RESIDENTS and business operators will benefit from a $680,000 upgrade of electricity supply along the Warburton Highway.
Electricity provider SP AusNet said last week they are investing in major improvement and reliability works in Woori Yallock, Yarra Junction, Launching Place, Warburton and surrounding areas.
The works aim to improve capacity during peak times and include animal proofing of locations most at risk of possums or birds coming into contact with power lines.
“Our crews have carried out works in Woori Yallock in the last few months, with upgrades to overhead powerlines, animal proofing of equipment and installation of high technology devices that restore power to customers more quickly,” said SP AusNet spokesperson Natasha Whalley.
Ms Whalley said the new technology could help reduce the number of customers affected by outages.
“This technology also means power can be restored more quickly when people do lose supply,” she said.
