OLINDA’S captain and coach Gavin Maslen has continued his outstanding season, knocking up 103 not out against East Ringwood on the first day of their Yarra Valley Cricket Association round 13 clash.
Maslen, who also hit 104 not out against Eastfield earlier in the season, was the catalyst in Olinda making 9/236.
His cracking season also included an 84 earlier in the year.
Adam Borg also continued his fine season, hitting 64 for the first XI.
After achieving its highest score for the season last round against Ainslie Park, Olinda’s seconds were all out for 145 against East Ringwood.
Jarrod Ham was the pick of the batsmen, notching up 34, on the back of 50 not out last round. East Ringwood will enter the second day at 3/112.
Ham also bowled a fine spell, claiming 1/37 off 18 overs.
In the third XI’s match, Olinda made 250 against Montrose. Tyson Heinrich shone with 68, while junior Christian Martin made 43 and Jake Murphy chimed in with 39.
Olinda’s fours made 235, Steve Moss top scoring with 58.
East Ringwood is 2/127.
After making 50 in the morning for the under 16s, youngster Brin Owen made 57 not out for Olinda’s fifth XI.
Olinda was all out for 154, while Montrose is 1/87.
