YAVA Gallery and Arts Hub’s third Members exhibition launch combined food with art.
The recent opening of the third Yarra Valley Artists Members exhibition featured green ants on the menu.
Oakridge Wines chefs Matt Stone and Jo Barrett surprised guests with the presentation of bite sized morsels that featured green ants delivered from the Northern Territory.
The green ants deliver a citric burst of flavour and have recently become a popular food choice in recent years.
Gallery director Andrew Chew said, “It’s always great to have notable people who are doing exciting things to launch our exhibitions… When the opportunity arose to have Matt and Jo participate, we grabbed it.”
Artists showing in this month’s exhibition include Mary Newham, Denise Smith, Cecilia Sharpley, Raelene Sharp and many more.
The exhibition will be open until 28 July. YAVA Gallery and Arts Hub is located at 252 Maroondah
Highway Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm.
Entry is free of charge.
