Rocking the Memo

The Memo in Healesville has seen many different performing styles and two more will hit the stage on Saturday 23 March. The audience can sit, sing or stomp along to the sounds of Tom Petty and Cat Stevens and either relive their youth or find out what music was like way back in the 70s.

Stuart Fenton, who lives in Healesville, heads up Petty Thievz, a Melbourne based Tom Petty Tribute Band bringing the very best of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Australian stages.

As seasoned musicians, Petty Thievz keep true to the original sounds of the legendary Tom Petty while adding their own dash and flair to a set list that spans four decades and includes iconic hits such as Free Fallin, Refugee, I Won’t Back Down and Running Down A Dream, just to name a few.

Tom Petty propelled himself into rock immortality as the consummate live performer and achieved world-wide record sales in excess of 80 million albums.

Ron Vincent masterfully pays tribute to Cat Stevens in an internationally acclaimed performance. His hauntingly beautiful vocals and performance style translates on stage to an authentic and entertaining show. His folk influenced, melodic tunes strike a chord with audiences and Ron’s heartfelt expression set the scene for an intimate musical journey.

“This will be a multi-sensory performance and all of your senses will be assaulted,” says Stuart Fenton. “We have an incredible audio visual video show on a huge screen to go with some fantastic music.”

This is a double feature that’s not to be missed at The Memo in Healesville on Saturday March 23 at 7.30pm. Tickets at culturetracks.info or call the Memo on 1300 368333.
