Woori Yallock Senior coach Brendan Donovan departs

Woori Yallock Football Netball Club is farewelling Senior’s Men’s Football coach Brendan ‘Ginko’ Donovan after two years at the helm.

In his second stint in charge for the Tigers, either side of a spell with Olinda Ferny-Creek, Donovan led Woori Yallock to back-to-back preliminary finals where they were defeated by Wandin last year and Olinda-Ferny Creek in 2025.

In a statement on Facebook, the club wished Donovna nothing but the very best in his next chapter.

“Ginko, your leadership, dedication, and unwavering passion for not just our club, but for the game of football itself, has left a lasting legacy,” it reads.

“You’ve guided our playing group with strength, wisdom, and heart — always putting the team first and bringing out the best in everyone around you,”

“We are forever grateful for the countless hours, the honest conversations, the on-field smarts, and the off-field care you’ve given to this club. Your mentorship and tireless work have shaped not only better footballers, but better people.”
