JAMES Brendan D’Zilva, 33, will stand trial in the Supreme Court today (Tuesday) charged with intentionally causing serious injury.
Deliberations started on Monday but a jury is yet to be selected and the case is expected to be heard in front of Justice Coghlan after two days of preliminary legal discussions.
D’Zilva is alleged to have stabbed Senior Constable Chris Bullen eight times at the Shell service station in Healesville in December 2010.
A month-long manhunt followed.
He has pleaded not guilty.
