Tenors hit right note

PITCHING against the roar of Steavenson’s Falls has put tenors Angelo Falcone, Lawrence Allen and Paulo Gulinello in fine form for their Three Tenors Show at Marysville on Saturday, 17 March.
The Lions Club of Marysville is putting on the acclaimed tribute show at the new Marysville Community Centre and the stars of the show visited last week to meet their hosts and pose for some promotional photos.
The trio Allen (Domingo) Gulinello (Carreras) and Falcone (Pavarotti) charmed their hosts, including Lions president Glenn McFadzean who joined them for an aria below the magnificent backdrop of Steavenson Falls.
The men said they were looking forward to the show which would feature accompanying soprano Carmela De Losinno and the show band headed by Maestro Gianni Turcio.
Mr Falcone, who started the Three Tenors Show in 1998, said their repertoire included classic hits and opera favourites in different languages, Italian, French and Spanish, and also in English.
“In a lot of these we get the opportunity to do three-part harmony and when that is presented properly, that is what touches the heart,” he said.
Mr Gulinello also spoke of affairs of the heart, saying he was a romantic at heart and promised Marysville audiences could expect a night of romance and passion.
