HEALESVILLE police are concerned that young teenagers are wandering the streets in the early hours of the morning.
“With a lot of warmer weather lately, kids 13, 14 and 15 are starting to run around the streets at anything up to 2am and 3am in the morning,” Sgt Wayne Williams said.
“Commonly they say on their way to a mate’s place and that their parents know where they’re staying but they’re just lingering in the usual areas around town.”
Sgt Williams is warning parents about the problem and asking to consider if they really know where their children are at night.
He is urging parents to confirm what their children are telling them.
“If your kids say they’re staying somewhere, contact the parents and be sure they are going where they say they are going, and that they have arrived,” he said.
“There is a group of youths who have the wool well and truly pulled over their parents’ eyes in Healesville,” he added.
It’s 2am. Where are your children?
