A DRIVER has been caught speeding on the Reefton Spur at 132km/h.
Police stopped the 23-year-old Hampton Park man on Saturday 25 February along Warburton-Woods Point Road in Cambarville.
He was caught doing 132km/h in an 80km/h speed zone. Warburton police stopped him as part of Operation Sputnik, a TAC operation targeting speeding motorists along the notorious “Reefton Spur”, a length of road that historically has a high level of motorbike injury collisions.
Senior Constable Rob Firns said the driver was issued with an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h.
“This will result in the driver having his licence suspended for 12 months, and he will also incur eight demerit points and a $611 fine,” he said.
