The Monday V.V.V’s:

The commissioner is on a roll. Following a win in last week’s results, Merilyn Macdonald kept the good form going, with a strong round on Monday 5 May.

A 17 point front nine was easily good enough for Merilyn to continue holding the bragging rights in that home.

The runner up here was Suzanne Barratt, posting a solid 15 point score.

Although no no NTPs were recorded, I’m reliably informed that one was nearly achieved on the tough and challenging fifth.

Wednesday 7 May – Stroke and M.McGrann Bag-day qualifier:

The winner was Darryl Ward, and Darryl indeed did dazzle alright, posting an impressive Nett 66, which comfortably accounted for the rest of us.

The unfortunate fact, though, is that dazzling Darryl had already qualified for the Bag day playoff in December.

The qualification thus should go to the runner up, Andrew McMath, who recorded a creditable Nett 69.

A good enough result to win it any other day.

The NTPs went home with: Allan Hubbard (3rd), Ian Junior Garside grabbed the tough one on the 5th, Barry Maltman took home the one for the 9th, and finally, the 15th NTP was won by Trevor Porter.

Saturday 10 May – Stableford:

A strong field of 60+ saw a strong win to Sam Dennis, in A-Grade.

Sam’s 41 excellent points was too good for the rest of the field. Shane Ford also posted a 41-point result, but Sam’s superior 2nd nine won him the top voucher.

Balls here got down to 35 only.

In B-Grade, my regular hitting partner, Des Ray, found some peerless form to record a 40-point score.

This score easily trumped all others in this Grade, because Barry Maltman came in 2nd, with 37 points posted.

And, the ball rundown here got all the way down to 31.

NTPs were taken home by P.K. (3rd), Simon Cameron (5th), David “Pup” Lever (9th), Shane “Bomber” Campbell (12th) and to Sam Dennis on the 15th, making for a most profitable day for The Hawk.
