IT was great to see some nice weather on the weekend and most Monbulk teams back on the park, with some mixed results for the Hawks.
Blake Walter took six wickets for the senior side, but it has a big chase against Eildon Park next Saturday.
The seconds are also chasing next week, but should make 173 if they bat well. The thirds have a big chance to record their first win next week, and the fourths lost their one-dayer but are still third on the ladder.
The juniors also had some mixed results, with the under-17s and under-13s both in strong positions.
Michael Davies top scored with 76 not out in the under-17s, and Travis Wills took 5/21 in the under-15s.
Monbulk Cricket Club congratulates Aaron Walter in the seniors and Lachlan Hill and Flynn Trewavis in the under-12s, for representing the Ferntree Gully and District Cricket Association in the Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union (VMCU) Carnival over the past couple of weeks.
Monbulk Cricket Club’s Milo in2Cricket Program was recently recognised for being in the top three in the state for girls participants.
So 10 lucky girls were offered the chance to participate in the lunch break activities at the Boxing Day Test Match.
