TWO year old Schwartzanager (Arnie to his friends) stormed in ahead of Marungi Blaze and Fine Century last week to take out the Healesville Greyhound Cup.
Owned by Neville King, also the trainer, and Kay Taberner of Pearcedale, the dog was the star of the Healesville Greyhound Association’s spectacular weekend of racing.
The win, making it six out of six on the Healesville track for Schwartzanager, including the Grade Five heat and Puppy Classic, took the youngster’s winnings to close to $15,000 over just five weeks.
“He’s going along really well,” said Mr King with a level of understatement.
“It was a terrific carnival and great to win the ultimate event on their calendar.
“It’s sort of a good, hard hit out and even though it’s a straight line, it is still a testing course, so the best dog always wins,” he said.
The event was attended by Chairman of the Greyhound Racing Victoria, Jan Wilson, who congratulated Mr King and Ms Taberner on their win, and the club on a well organised and successful event.
