LOOK no further than Yencken’s Home Hardware in Yea to pick up last minute Christmas gifts for the whole family.
The store has doubled in size with recent renovations nearing completion, including an extensive timber and trade department and an all new garden room.
There are plenty of staff on hand that can help with any DIY questions, as well as those with specialist areas.
Team member Jo Kilpatrick said the new garden room was a roofless area where plants could get natural light and rainwater.
“It’s set up with water fountains and plants, seedlings, and we can stock a lot more than before,” she said.
“It’s also set up to give people ideas about what to do in the garden.”
Jo said there was also a homewares section with electrical goods, kitchenware and giftware. “Our catalogue sale is on until Christmas time with all the latest summer gear – outdoor settings and barbecues,” she said.
“Pick up last minute Christmas gifts – tools for the men, homewares for the ladies, and we’ve got plenty for the kids – slides, mini tables and chairs, and gardening and tool sets.”
The Yenckens family bought the shop in 2008 and took it on alongside one in Alexandra and Mansfield, “so we service quite a large area,” said Jo.
The store also has an in-store banking service with Westpac.
Yencken’s Home Hardware is located on 26 High Street, Yea, and is open from 7am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 2pm Saturday and 9am to 1pm Sunday.
It will only be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
