HEALESVILLE will again be the hub of creative experiences when the Yarra Valley Summer of the Arts returns in January.
Formerly the Summer School of Arts, the rebranded experience run by Yarra Valley Arts is offering workshops for all ages from 9 to 13 January in areas including visual arts, music, drama, creative writing, textiles, jewellery and puppetry.
It is a uniquely creative and invigorating experience that has for more than a decade brought local people and visitors together at holiday time in Healesville to explore new interests, and hone existing talents.
The workshops are led by respected, professional artists with the ability to encourage and extend students of all ages and abilities.
Workshops range from one day to five days and include activities from African song and dance to singing technique and improvisation, acting skills, physical theatre for fun, mosaics, abstract, pastel and silk painting, self portraiture to felting and basket weaving.
Turn broken and loved costume jewellery into a masterpiece, refashion old garments into unique pieces of wearable art or create a beautiful journal using natural creative expression or, venture into the fascinating world of puppetry.
Arts for Kids is a fun five day adventure with creativity galore and plenty of action to keep young minds alive and curious.
