UPPER Yarra Secondary College students are busily getting on with their exams before the long summer that turns in to the rest of their lives.
But before the formalities began, the Class of 2012 celebrated its last day of school with dress ups, games and a barbecue before being dismissed.
The graduation dinner, held the night before on 25 October, also exemplified the students’ academic performance with 16 domain awards as well as those who were top of their class for each year 12 subject in 2012.
Stacey Carter earned the Yarra Ranges Council All Round Excellence Award, Hayley Carter-Field earned the Principal’s Award, Jenny Walter earned the Upper Yarra Chaplaincy Student Community Award, Tegan Roberts earned the Deakin University Transition Award and Jessica Bishop earned the Australian Defence Force Long Tan Award.
Assistant Principal Patricia Broom said the students were all delightful on their last day.
“They had lots of fun as is the tradition at Upper Yarra Secondary College,” she said.
