The ministry of caring

By Kath Gannaway
OVER the weekend of 7 to 9 April the Adventist community in Warburton will celebrate 100 years of living, working, playing, educating, caring and ministering in Warburton.
For those who have been part of the history of Adventists in Warburton – at the Signs Publishing Company, the Warburton Church, the Warburton Christian School, Yarra View Hostel, Sanitarium Factory or the Warburton Hospital, the Centenary Celebrations will be an opportunity to remember both the good and the challenging times, to renew friendships and to celebrate a magnificent milestone with the wider community.
The Adventist community has extended an invitation to all residents of the Yarra Valley to join in the celebrations.
Pastor Eric Kingdon of the Warburton Seventh-day Adventist Church sees the centenary as an opportunity to give thanks and to reflect on the past.
“As a community we have the opportunity to reflect on the things that have shaped both church and community in Warburton and to renew our partnership with the community as we look towards the future,” he said.
The Mail Newspaper Group congratulates the Warburton Adventist community on their contribution to the township and its people over the past 100 years.
