UPPER Yarra’s SES is going “high tech” with new laptops to get them on the move quicker.
The three laptops were purchased with a $3000 grant from the Upper Yarra Community Enterprise.
They were a “much-needed upgrade” that will allow volunteers to access more screen time to complete operational, administration and training functions.
Upper Yarra SES admin officer Lesley Collins said the laptops would ensure the unit has the ability to respond effectively during major events.
“Now that our operational systems are electronic it is important that members are able to access these systems for the latest information for planning emergency responses,” she said.
“The Bendigo Community Bank has been an ongoing and generous supporter of the Upper Yarra SES and this is very much appreciated by the unit.”
