Get active for the holidays

CHILDREN are being encouraged to get active in the community during the school holidays.
The Upper Yarra Community House runs a fun-filled school holiday program for five to 12-year-olds in a warm and friendly environment.
The vacation care program gets children out into the community with excursions to the movies, Scienceworks and games days.
They can also get creative with arts and crafts, get messy with a slime day, and test their culinary skills in a Junior Master Chef cook off.
Individual likes are catered for as the children’s centre has a large play area outdoors and plenty of room for creativity inside.
The children are cared for by qualified early childhood professionals in a safe environment.
When the children return to school they can benefit from the before and after school care programs that resource 10 local schools.
As the only out of school hours program, students are picked up or dropped off at Warburton, Milwarra, Hoddles Creek, Don Valley, Gladysdale, Little Yarra Steiner, Wesburn, Launching Place, St Josephs and Yarra Junction primary schools.
The out of school hours program is run from venues at Warburton Primary School and 41 Little Yarra Road, Yarra Junction.
Students are transported to and from schools in the Upper Yarra Community House bus, which makes several trips.
The UYCH Family and Children’s Services vacation care programs are run from both Warburton and Yarra Junction venues over the school holidays.
