NATIONAL Youth Week is set to kick off again with more than 20 activities planned for young people across the Shire of Yarra Ranges from 1 to 9 April.
The program, funded by the Office of Youth in partnership with the shire, will include a Young Designers Fashion Expo, DJ workshop, comedy night, drive-in movie, girls-only learn to skate, a battle of the bands, skate park tour, and lead lighting workshop.
‘Just Add You’ is the theme for this year’s celebrations with young people encouraged to get involved, attend live events, showcase their talent, take part in competitions and celebrate the contribution they make within their community.
Yarra Ranges mayor Monika Keane encouraged young people to get involved in the celebrations in their area. “National Youth Week is a wonderful opportunity for young people to get together and celebrate their achievements within the community,” she said.
For further information on activities planned for National Youth Week contact the shire’s Youth Services department on 9294 6716.
