Electrical fault starts fire in offices

HEALESVILLE and Badger Creek CFA brigades were busy over the weekend with fires in Healesville’s East End, Badger Creek and Mt Toolebewong.
Units from Healesville and Badger Creek attended a fire at the offices of Timber Communities Australia in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Badger Creek CFA captain Nic Rodway said the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the bulkhead of the roof. It was contained without serious damage.
On Saturday about 9pm, three units were called to Roma Avenue in Badger Creek where a neighbour reported a fire in the grounds of an unoccupied house.
“The house had started to catch fire and if it had not been for the quick response of the brigade members, we could have been in strife,” Mr Rodway said. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
In another early morning call-out, units from Healesville, Badger Creek and Launching Place responded to a fire at Moora Moora Co-operative at around 1am on Monday at Mt Toolebewong.
A generator caused a fire in a mud brick shed and brigade members were at the site from about 1am until 5am.
