IN ALL sorts of ways the music scene around Healesville and the Yarra Valley is getting stronger.
The valley is home to a growing number of musicians – young and “old guard” and the vibrant live-music scene in the cafes, pubs and outdoor concert venues reflects its place as another hallmark of the Yarra Valley experience.
The Yarra Valley Musicians Collective was formed on the basis of that evolving live-music scene and the 2011 Healesville Music Festival at the Queen’s Park Sound Shell gives an exciting taste of its vision for the future.
The line-up for the 10-hour, family-friendly, free event is spectacular – starting with the welcome and children’s choir at 11am.
The chalkboard stage running all day at Psybus Space is sure to chalk-up some exciting, and possibly surprising, talent on the side-lines.
Circus workshops, for all ages, will run from noon to 5pm, adding another dimension to the festival. And, there’ll be plenty of great food wine and beer available throughout the day.
Healesville Music Festival 2011 – is a ‘must be there’ event! Do it!
