Mosaic helpers needed

By Kath Gannaway
Construction started on the long-awaited community project in November, but the hundreds of ceramic tiles painted by community members to raise funds for the project, have been a work in progress over the past couple of years.
The tiles were mounted on panels in October and will be put in place at the Labyrinth on Saturday, 12 February.
“We need people who know how to grout to finish off the panels and link them together on site,” said project team member Donna Swan.
Ms Swan said construction will halt for just a day to allow the panels to be put in place, so it was critical the work was done on time and with a professional result.
“We have from 10am to 5pm to complete the mosaic part of the project, so we are hoping for a good response,” Ms Swan said.
The project – which features a water garden, seating and grape arbours around the large labyrinth – is located in the park adjacent to Healesville railway station.
