Wandin stand alone as the only undefeated side in the Outer East Premier Division, with Woori Yallock handing Upwey Tecoma their first loss of the campaign in the process.
In the battle for top Tigers, both the home side and visiting Upwey Tecoma were dogged by inaccuracy in Woori Yallock’s 11-point win.
Woori Yallock’s 23 shots on goal resulted in only six majors and Upwey Tecoma’s 17 resulted in only five.
So wayward were Woori Yallock that they kicked 0.7 in the first quarter and had 1.10 at half time, where Upwey Tecoma had 4.7 from their 11 shots on goal.
Both sides were locked on 38 at three-quarter-time, but last year’s runner-up kicked two goals in the final term and held their opponent goalless, to win 6.17 53 to 5.12 42.
As they basked in the glory of their 2022 triumphs by unfurling their premiership flags, and welcomed their 2013 premiership side to celebrate the 10-year reunion of their epic victory over Cranbourne, Narre Warren returned to winning ways by handling Monbulk.
Kurt Mutimer made a welcome return from injury to kick the opening goal of the contest for the Magpies, who held the Hawks scoreless in the opening term while kicking three themselves.
It was the second in which they showed why they have been so hard to beat in recent years, piling on eight while only allowing two the other way, to hold a 57-point lead at the long break.
Another goalless quarter for the Hawks in the third term did nothing to eat-away at the deficit, which grew to 76 at the final break.
A marginal Monbulk victory in the final team meant they could walk away from the contest with an element of pride, despite the 70 point margin, 15.11 101 to 4.7 31.
Nine players hit the scoreboard for the Magpies, with Jesse Davies and Jake Richardson leading the way with three each.
On Olinda, Wandin’s win over Olinda Ferny Creek means they are the only side remaining without a loss to their name this season.
The Bulldogs shot-out to a 28-point lead at quarter time and maintained a comfortable buffer for the remainder of the contest, finishing 11.12 78 to 7.9 51 winners.
Their savvy recruiting continues to bare fruit, with Drew Benson among their better players once again, and Aaron Mullett adding another three to take his season tally to 17.
There’s just the three games next week in Premier Division, with Gembrook Cockatoo and Upwey Tecoma having played their fixtured contest for round five last month.
Pakenham head to Mount Evelyn, Monbulk host Wandin and Woori Yallock host Olinda Ferny Creek, as the league celebrates Pride Round.
