Backing for track

AS A Steels Creek resident who lives on the road along which the walking track is to be routed, I felt compelled to write in following the recent negative letters and stories regarding the walking track.
I and all of the neighbours to whom I have spoken are very keen for the walking track to come out to Steels Creek and do not feel that our voice has been represented.
We love our valley and yet many neighbours have to go elsewhere to walk – for example Dixons Creek reserve or even the Warbuton Trail – simply because it is not safe to walk on the road.
Everyone in Steels Creek was affected in some way by the fires – personally, we lost our home – and many had traumatic experiences.
I think the walking trail will be a great way to bring residents together and enable people to enjoy our peaceful valley.
