A WOORI Yallock farmer was the victim of sheep theft last week.
Yarra Junction police were called to the farm on Friday 3 December after the farmer, doing his early morning rounds, realised a number of his sheep were missing and gates had been moved.
Sergeant Kevin Largue said it appeared the raiders accessed the farm from the Warburton Rail Trail and corralled several lambs into a vehicle.
“They’d taken as many as they could get and the owners discovered the lambs missing early the next morning because the offenders had changed the way the animals had been penned,” he said.
Sgt Largue said the theft happened between 5.30pm on Thursday 2 December, when the farmer had last checked the sheep, and 6am on the Friday morning.
Yarra Junction police are calling for witnesses to the event.
