Healesville Cricket Club
Under 16A: Healesville v Yarra Junction: Healesville won the toss and elected to bat. With the top order failing to fire, the middle order batsmen took up the challenge and batted out the day to reach 10/130 off 40.2 overs. Best players: J. McPherson, S. McMahon, J. Shambrok, S. Laidlaw, M. Dannahay.
Under 14A: Healesville v Yarra Junction: Yarra Junction won the toss and batted. With the first ball bowled the game was on. Daniel Rogers clean bowled the opening batsman with his first ball. A good bowling effort with Daniel Rogers, Luke Campbell-Drury and Nigel Wilkes all taking three wickets. Mark Davies bowled his left hand in swingers to take one wicket. Yarra Junction all out for 83. Healesville made 35 for the loss of one wicket. Best players: D. Rogers, N. Wilkes, L. Campbell-Drury.
Under 12B: Healesville White v Marysville: Marysville batted well to make a good score. Harry Cowling bowled well taking 1/16. T. Denby taking 2/12. Well done to Angus Boyle taking 2/5.
Healesville Red v Yarra Junction: Yarra Junction won the toss on an overcast day and sent Healesville into bat on a damp ground. Healesville batted all day to make their highest score for the year 6/144. Jay Tacey batted very well making his highest score of 12 retired and Dean Crudas made 12. Best players: J. Tacey, D. Crudas, S. Higgs, H. O’Brien, R. Hyde.
Under 10: Healesville White v Mt Evelyn: Healesville White won the toss and elected to bat. K. Gottwald starred with 23 not out, making the majority of Healesville’s runs and some good backing up with N. Vernon making six. Mt Evelyn’s batsmen shared the batting with all batsmen making a contribution. K. Gottwald once again starred with a wicket and a run out. Best players: D. Giblin, C. Argentino, K. Gottwald, N. Vernon.
Healesville Red v Marysville: Healesville won the toss and elected to bowl. After four overs Marysville were 4 for 9. They never recovered and Healesville ended up having them 11 for 56 off the 25 overs. Dong Mon-Aphai took 3 for 0, Ryan McCracken took 3 for 6 and Mathew Bussaca took 2 for 15. In a good batting display, Healesville ended up 3 for 92 off our 25 overs. Cougar McGrath top scored with 16 not out. Best players: M. Bussaca, C. McGrath, D. Mon-Aphai, R. McCracken.
Warburton Millgrove Cricket Club
Strachan Shield: Another very disappointing batting effort saw Warburton dismissed by Mt Evelyn for 89. B. Summers top scored with 28. In reply, Mt Evelyn were 6/10 with M. Walker capturing 3 wickets.
Strachan Shield 3: Batting first Warburton failed to put together any solid partnerships as Mt Evelyn dismissed them for 118. T. Kelly 29 and S. Muir 28 not out top scored. In reply, Mt Evelyn declared on 5/203. C. Sadler 59 and D. Phasey 46 not out top scored. D. Moorman 2/43 and J. Ingham 2/10 Warburton’s best bowlers. D. Davey 6/63 and D. Phasey 3/53 were Mt Evelyn’s best bowlers.
Under 14: Another disciplined bowling and fielding performance saw Warburton dismiss Hoddles Creek for 65. A. Wooley 4/4 (off 3 overs) and D. Hajder 2/17 their best bowlers. T. Edmonds 15 and A. Tazzyman 14 Hoddles Creek’s top scorers. In reply Warburton were 1/48 with A. Calder 21 not out and D. Hajder 13. R Ryan-Corbett continued his fine form behind the stumps with two catches.
