MOUNTAIN Tigers Basketball Club is looking for new junior players.
Registration is now open for the club’s summer season, which kicks off in late October.
The club is centred on Upwey, Tecoma and Belgrave and particularly keen for kids aged five to seven to give basketball a go.
Coaching co-ordinator Kerryn Westcott said the club recently received a state government sporting uniforms grant.
“It allows us to provide a loan uniform free of charge to all of our under-eight players and any player who may wish to try basketball at an older age before committing long-term to the purchase of a uniform,” she said.
“Basketball is a great sport, which is inclusive regardless of experience or skill, builds communication skills in children and shows the value of working in a team so succeed.”
Teams train on Tuesday afternoons at St Joseph’s College in Ferntree Gully. Contact secretary@mountaintigers.com.au for details.
