THE great ‘thaw’ is happening for young people between 20 September and 1 October.
Yarra Ranges Youth Services has put together an action-packed “Thaw Out” package for the September school holidays.
Activities include Dark Zone laser games in Box Hill, a Zumba class at Yarra Junction, a trip to Melbourne Zoo, a photography workshop, op-shop tour, introduction to self defence, Upwey acoustic gig, learn to skateboard session at Yarra Junction, horse riding at Christmas Hills, Masterchef at Belgrave, a South African adventure at Warburton and also at Healesville, trout fishing at Macclesfield and the Elevate festival at Yarra Junction.
There is also a free outdoor youth event on 24 September, featuring local musicians and artists creating a new work for the skate park.
Some activities are free with others costing a maximum of $12. Transport is available and the program is available to young people aged 12 to 25.
