Wednesday 17 August, Stableford:
Ok, we’re back, ( from up north!) And, the course is still quite heavy, making good scoring difficult! One who did score well on this day was Ross Ferguson, amassing a creditable total of 36 points. This score was enough to edge out Neil Leckenby, who had to be content with the runner-up voucher. But Neil’s 35 points was a positive indication of his form for the upcoming Master’s Pennant season, a solid boost for the mighty Warbie Gold squad! Balls crept all the way down to 31. The 4 NTP winners on the day were as follows Ray “Happy” Gilmore (3rd), Ron Wilson (5th), Darryl Ward (9th) and Steuart Hawke (15th). Steuart is another member of the Warbie Gold squad, so the season is looking very bright indeed!
Saturday 20 August, PAR:
With all the field hitting off at 9.30am for a Shotgun start, there were bound to be some really healthy scores discussed in the Clubrooms afterwards, even with the continued heavy conditions and inclement weather. The golfer getting the most pats on his back was none other than Clint Toohey, a regular winner, but one who ‘hasn’t greeted the judge’ for a while now! But, his healthy +3 was enough to grab the main prize. Good work, Clint! Craig Staggard had to settle for the runner-up voucher but would have still been pleased with his +2. Balls extended to -1. NTPs were won by Clint Toohey (3rd), Peter Fox (5th), Steuart Hawke (9th), Junior Kempton (12th) and Tim Blanche (15th).
