MARNA Business Services’ slogan “A local small business for local small business” spells out exactly the market owner and operator Bob Gannaway believes is his niche.
“Increasingly the first place people go when they want to source a service or a product locally is to their computer – probably to Google,” Mr Gannaway said.
“But many small businesses just don’t have the time or the expertise to put into that part of the business.
“That’s where Marna can help,” he said.
Marna Business Services offers webpage design, graphic design, menus, flyers, and newsletters for all types of businesses, sporting and other organisations.
“Having spent 10 years in computer application studies, it seemed obvious when I decided on a change of career in 2008 that starting my own business catering to small businesses in Yarra Ranges was the way to go,” Mr Gannaway said.
“During those 10 years I have created and maintained the Healesville RSL website and newsletters as part of my involvement as a committee member there.
“With regular updates and improvements this has grown exponentially over the years and is an ongoing project.”
Since launching Marna Business Services in 2009 he has worked with clients in the tourism, retail, industrial and community sectors.
Mr Gannaway said he worked on the principle that most people wanted basic information when they went to a website, and most businesses and organisations wanted a professional, well-maintained web presence and publications at a reasonable price.

Mr Gannaway said flexibility was inherent in his approach to each project.
