THE Yarra Valley Youth Theatre Group’s next production, The Opposite Sex, is a bit of a departure from the group’s previous works.
The group, or some of them at least, are all grown up and looking at more challenging and, perhaps, controversial roles.
The Opposite Sex, a classic love quadrangle involving two married couples, who are all swingers on the sly, has all the elements which will take the group into unexplored territory.
A tale of disastrous and hilarious consequences, which relies on comic timing and skilful delivery of the script, it promises to be another winner for the talented YVYTG team, director Howard Proctor and actors Kayla Dickson, Brendan Carroll, Ross Tempest and Jessica Bishop.
Be warned, the show contains mature themes!
Performances are at 7.30pm at the Upper Yarra Arts Centre on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 January.
Tickets at $12 adult, $8 concession and $25 for a family – two adults and two children – are available at the centre or phone 5966 5160.
Proceeds of the show will go to the Corey O’Brien Fund, Launching Place Fire Brigade and the theatre group.
