THE weather was perfect for the annual Macclesfield Pony Club (MPC) Australia Day show jumping competition.
The club’s fundraising co-ordinator Gill Weiner said the event at the Tschampions Road MPC grounds was good practice for the state qualifier event later in the year.
Almost 100 competitors in B to F grades from about 25 different pony clubs took part, some travelling more than two hours to compete.
“It was generously supported by many businesses within the local community and from far afield,” Ms Weiner said.
“We also appreciated the hard work and professionalism of the judges and course designers.”
Jessica took out the B Grade individual championship on Kangaroo Jack.
Isabelle rode Fluent Talk to equal first place with Alex on Vulcon Ruler in C Grade.
Laura and Mr Apples combined to take out D Grade. Tatum won E Grade on Shadow, and Alana took out F Grade with Pendragon Little Dude.
Upper Yarra Pony Club took out the team championship, ahead of Monbulk Pony Club in second place and MPC in third.
