MORE than 6000 Yarra Ranges residents put pen to paper to share their views on local housing as part of a shire wide survey conducted earlier this year.
The residents participated in the shire’s Housing Strategy Preference Survey which was included with the April/ May edition of the shire’s quarterly newsletter Shirewide.
Cr Di Moore said the enthusiastic response was encouraging.
“It’s fantastic that so many people responded. We can now use this data with confidence in devising our housing strategy,” she said.
The aim of the survey was to gauge a variety of community opinions and understand housing preferences.
“The housing strategy and action plan will create a coordinated and strategic approach on housing issues by providing a framework for the development of new policies to improve housing outcomes for our community,” she said.
