THE closest game for the round belonged to the bottom two teams, Alexandra and Wandin, both looking for their first win.
Wandin started the game stronger taking a 21-point lead into quarter time. The next two quarters Alexandra held Wandin to just two goals as it booted seven, to lead at the last change by eight points.
Alexandra could see its first win in first division coming but Wandin spoilt the party as it kicked three goals in the last to Alexandra’s one to give Wandin its first win of the season by a narrow three points.

Silvan has gotten back on track winning their second game in a row, beating Warburton Millgrove by seven goals.
In such a high-scoring game the major highlight was the bag of 10 goals from Silvan’s Ben Haynes. His team-mate Owen Weatherley wasn’t far behind, kicking seven.
Silvan never looked in trouble from the outset and maybe this could be the start of something special from the Cats.

Thornton Eildon travelled down to Belgrave full of confidence after their first win of the season the previous week.
Belgrave, however, was far too good for Thornton as they handed them a 46-point defeat.
Belgrave played their most consistent four quarters of the season to date, and Thornton just couldn’t match the running power of their opponents. A fine performance from the Magpies as they got their second victory of the season.
Belgrave 15.11.101 d Thornton Eildon 7.13.55.
Best: Belgrave: J. Meyer 6, T. Riley, D. Bilston. Thornton Eildon: B. Musgrove, D. Creed, A. Mottram.

Seville took their winning streak to seven in a row after accounting for Yarra Junction by 50 points.
After an even first half with scores at 6.6 apiece at half time it looked like this game was going to go right down to the wire.
Seville, however, got their running game going in the second half, booting 10 goals to Junction’s two.
Seville played exceptional football in the second half and must be a close flag favourite just behind Olinda.
