Remembering Black Saturday

The State Government is offering grants of up to $5000 for community groups in 21 municipalities affected by the Black Saturday Bushfires in 2009.

The grants opened on Monday 10 September through the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning’s (DELWP) 2009 Victorian Bushfires Commemoration and Community Development Grants Scheme.

Councils will collate and submit eligible applications to Local Government Victoria by Monday 15 October for final funding approval.

Visit vic.gov.au/2009-bushfires to check eligibility and apply at yarraranges.vic.gov.au/bushfiregrants.

Grants of up to $8000 will soon be available through Regional Arts Victoria’s Community Arts Grants Program.

The round is expected to open in mid-October and close on Thursday 31 January.

Email the council on emergencymanagement@yarraranges.vic.gov.au or call 1300 333 368 with any questions.
