A special march and service will honour the region’s Vietnam War Veterans.
The Yarra Valley and Outer Eastern Melbourne Vietnam Veterans Day will start with a march from the service road at 318 Maroondah Highway at 10.30am on Sunday 12 August.
A service at the Lilydale Cenotaph, corner Maroondah Highway and Clarke Road, will follow at 11am.
Lilydale RSL president Don Parsons will officiate proceedings and speakers will include Casey MP Tony Smith, Medal of the Order of Australia recipient Ken McKenzie and Aff Binnoore, who’s president of the Vietnam Veterans Association Australia – Outer Eastern Melbourne Sub-branch.
Dandenong Ranges Music Council will perform an original song written for the Centenary of Anzac, called Forgotten Heroes.
