NEW Knox Raiders recruit Caitlin Cunningham produced a dominant performance in her debut game with the club to earn player of the week honours.
The versatile athletic big notched up 29 points and ripped down 5 rebounds in her team’s opening victory over the Launceston Tornadoes 70-49 in the Apple Isle on Friday 13 March.
Head coach Heath Anderson said Cunningham burst from the blocks in her first game for the club and displayed her ‘phenomenal ability’.
“I know Caitlin gives more credence to team achievements, but that said it is a special achievement for her especially so early in the season,” Anderson said.
“Caitlin prepares so well and professionally, she has this insatiable drive to win.”
He said Cunningham shone in a range of court positions.
“Caitlin really did showcase her range of offensive scoring weaponry,” he said.
