Ranger’s Report
THE Council’s ranger reported that during the month he had impounded 42 head of stock. He needed improved gates at the pound and was reporting alleged illegal slaughtering at the sale yards.
In moving the adoption of the report, Cr. Vear said if the ranger looked around the streets at night he would probably be rewarded with a few ‘catches’.

A Better Railway Service
Healesville people were fondly hoping that when the railway line was electrified to Lilydale a much better service over the intervening 16 miles to Healesville would follow. However, the electrification to Lilydale has made little difference to the efficiency of the Healesville service, as only 12 minutes have been saved on the trip.
