Cross-country kicks off

By Casey Neill
KNOX Little Athletics’ cross country season will kick off at Wantirna’s Koomba Park on Saturday 4 April.
Events will be held from 9am to 10.30am each Saturday in parkland throughout Knox and neighbouring regions, including Wick’s Reserve in The Basin, Jells Park and Cardinia Dam.
The competition is open to children aged between 4 and 15, with distances ranging from 500 to 3000 metres.
Parents are invited to join in to intensify the competitive spirit, and parents’ races will be held throughout the season.
Registration is $25 for new athletes aged under 6 and $40 for older runners.
Registrations will be held between 9am and 11am on Saturday 28 March at the Knox athletic track in Bunjil Way, Knoxfield.
Competitors can also register at Koomba Park from 8am on 4 April before the event.
