HEALESVILLE mother-daughter netball duo, Jodi and Chenile Chandler not only play together, they win together.
The pair both won Best and Fairest awards at the Healesville Football Netball Club presentation night at the RACV Club in Healesville on Friday 30 September.
Chenile won Best and Fairest in A grade, and Jodi won in B grade.
Jodi said it was very exciting for her and Chenile to win Best and Fairest.
“It’s great to be playing alongside Chenile, let alone both winning the same award in our grades,” Jodi said.
This season Healesville netballers knew club votes for Best and Fairest up until round 13, and the last rounds were announced on the night.
“Chenile only won by one vote, so it was really close,” Jodi said.
“It was a really good night.”
Jodi played goal defence and Chenile played goal keeper this season, and they are keen to play again next season.
“I’ll definitely play,” Jodi said.
“One particular game we weren’t doing very well – Chenile and I were both playing on the same team – and on the last quarter we all threw our bibs in and picked up a random one.
“It was really funny because then we both got attack positions.”
