Big win to Burras bowlers

WARBURTON BOWLS
THE Warburton Bowls Club started the 2016-’17 Saturday Pennant season on the weekend full of running in beautiful conditions.
Warburton 1, with several new players stepping up to the higher level, recorded a wonderful victory away against Mooroolbark 1.
The scores were 99 to 71.
Rink scores were as follows: P. Woods 24/21: J. Brookes 21/22: G. Broussard 24/14 and B. Woods 30/14.
The game was played in great spirit, with the green in excellent condition.
They play Monbulk 1 at home this weekend.
Warburton 2 played at home against Heathmont 4 and in a very close tussle all throughout the afternoon.
With the lead changing several times, they came away with an exciting victory 86 to 80.
Rink Scores were as follows: S. Mahoney 18/31; G. Wynd 26/11; P. Summers 18/22 and D. McConachy 24/16.
Congratulations to David McConachy for skipping his first game and recording a fine victory.
Also, well done to first-time bowlers Terry Heyward and Adam Humphrey.
They play Mooroolbark 4 away this weekend.
Warburton 3 played Box Hill RSL 3 away and went down 24 to 48.
Rink scores were M. Watt 13/24 and B. Watt 11/24.
Well done to Darcy Morrison, Tyler Van Der Zweep and Naomi Van Der Zweep for playing their first ever games.
They play Ashburton 5 at home this weekend.
Unfortunately, the Tuesday Pennant game at Croydon got washed out.
They play Boronia 2 at home this week.
