Have a fun week

THEATRE performances, story time, films and fairies are just a few of the things Yarra Valley children can look forward to during National Children’s Week from 18 to 26 October.
At Healesville Sanctuary, Zygo the fairy will fly in on Thursday 23 October to take children on an adventure of discovery and fun.
Zygo’s fascination for little creepy crawlies is sure to lead to some interesting discoveries.
“They hide in the bush, under the ground … everywhere,” said Zygo as she allowed Kuma the dingo a peek preview of some of the surprises she has in store for curious littlies!
Children under 15 will have free entry on the day.
The Shire of Yarra Ranges is also promising lots of fun with a week of free activities for children at various locations throughout the shire.
“Some of the highlights will be theatre performances, story time, films, art demonstrations and creative writing,” said Councillor Samantha Dunn.
The week will get off to a great start with the launch of the Collector Kidz Exhibit and a children’s week party at the Upper Yarra Family Centre on Saturday18 October.
The Children’s Week program has been coordinated in partnership with organisations including Yarra Valley Community Health, Yarra Valley Arts Council and Eastern Regional Libraries.
