YARRA Valley seniors kicked up their heels last week in their annual celebration of well-deserved, positive age discrimination.
More than 300 people from around the valley shared lunch at the York on Lilydale on Tuesday, courtesy of the Shire of Yarra Ranges, taking to the dance floor for a bit of conga, some funky Abba moves and a few, romantic older-style dances.
At Healesville, a community lunch and the opportunity for the artists to chat about their work followed the launch of the U3A-Golden Wattle art exhibition.
There were some good opening day sales with curators more than happy to be kept busy, “red dotting” quite a few of the more than 70 works on display.
The exhibition, at Swinburne TAFE, is open until 16 October.
