SEVILLE CFA members Paul Spinks and Darren Williams say they met their match when local pre-schoolers visited the fire station recently.
Mr Spinks said he and Mr Williams were very impressed with the bright bunch of kids who showed they are already aware of the dangers and other issues around fire.
The difference between bad and good fires, the dangers of cigarette lighters and matches and how to safely exit a burning house as well as the importance of having a set meeting place in case of a fire, were all part of the visit.
Practising the stop, drop and roll response to a fire and, of course, the opportunity to look over the truck – lights and sirens included – raised the excitement level a notch or two, according to Mr Spinks.
