RESIDENTS of the Shire of Yarra Ranges will have access to a range of key health services closer to home with the opening of their new super clinic on Friday.
The facility was opened by Health Minister Daniel Andrews who said it would help fill a gap for the local community and reduce the need for residents to travel ‘down the line’ for healthcare.
“Yarra Ranges Health provides services to the local community and broader area of the Yarra Ranges for a range of health conditions that require specialist medical care, but do not require an overnight stay in hospital,” Mr Andrews said.
The facility will include a day oncology unit, with six chemotherapy chairs, palliative care, and day surgery with two theatres and youth mental services.
“It will provide treatment for people with complex medical conditions in a community setting, rather than at a hospital,” Mr Andrews said.
