Pedestrian serious after accident

A COLDSTREAM man was airlifted to hospital last week after being hit by a car in Coldstream.
Acting Sergeant Helen Bell from Mooroolbark police said the man, in his fifties, stepped out in front of the car on Thursday12 March, at the intersection of Maroondah Highway and Killara Road.
He was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries.
Sgt Bell said police were investigating the incident but added the driver was in no way at fault.
“She tried everything to miss him, but unfortunately she was not able to avoid contact,” she said.
No further information was available on the condition of the injured man.
