Looking into fairyland

AGE was no barrier for Millgrove residents visiting fairyland last week.
Hundreds of pixies, fairies and elves, young and old, turned out for Millwarra Primary School’s inaugural Fairy Twilight Fair.
The incentive for braving a cold, wet night was the opportunity to raise funds for the school’s sponsored seeing eye dog, Sundae, and for equipment for the school’s new Early Years Development Centre.
The fair was a phenomenal success raising $1000 through the sale of glow sticks, helium balloons, fairy puppets, wands, fairy gardens and lots of yummy fairy food.
The idea for the fairy fair blossomed from a story read to the prep and grade 1 children.
“The parents and older students soon came on board and weekly workshops were held to prepare for the special event,” Ms Walters said.
“The hard work and enthusiasm of everyone, students, parents and staff, proved to be a winning combination,” she said.
Ms Walters said costs were kept to a minimum with the school’s fantastic parents donating most of what was on offer.
“We want to sincerely thank everyone who came along for supporting our worthy cause and are looking forward to seeing everyone again at next year’s Fairy Fair,” she said.
