THE Yarra Valley will notice some small changes in its ambulance service from today (Tuesday).
Victoria’s three ambulance services will merge to form a statewide agency, Ambulance Victoria.
The Government received 78 submissions in response to its consultation paper.
Victoria’s three agencies are the Metropolitan Ambulance Service, which covers Melbourne and surrounds; Rural Ambulance Victoria, and the Alexandra District Ambulance Service.
Victoria is the only state with more than one emergency ambulance service.
“The merger is a good thing, but in the day-to-day running of the ambulance service there will be no impact to the public,” Healesville paramedic Mal McLeod said.
