THREE road incidents stretched police and ambulance services in Upper Yarra on Friday night.
Warburton police were first called to a single vehicle crash on Warburton Highway between Millgrove and Warburton at about 7.30pm on Friday night.
A Millgrove man in his early 30s was taken to Maroondah Hospital with minor injuries.
Leading Senior Sergeant Brett Handscombe of Warburton police said the driver lost control of the vehicle which ran into the bank before hitting a tree and rolling on to its roof.
Just over an hour later, police were called to another single car collision in Wickhams Road, Launching Place.
Sen Sgt Handscombe said the vehicle, again went off the road and hit a tree. The driver, the sole occupant, was taken to Maroondah Hospital with facial injuries.
Shortly after midnight police and ambulance officers were called to Warburton Highway in Wesburn where a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Sen Sgt Handscombe said the man, a local resident in his early 20s, was transported to hospital. His condition is not known.
“Our collision statistics have been pretty good for the first part of the year, but three incidents like this in one night-shift is not a good result,” Sen Const Don Trice told the Mail.
In another incident on Sunday afternoon a Warburton man was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital after sustaining head injuries while walking in the bush.
Sen Sgt Handscombe said the man, in his 40s, was walking with a friend on a bush track off the Ada River Road at about 2.30pm when he was struck by a falling tree branch. His condition is not known.
