THERE were all kinds of emotions at Rochford on Saturday night as one of the biggest selling female artists of all time took centre stage.
As the diva herself, Mariah Carey, made her way to the microphone shrieks and squeals of the crowd were deafening, some burst into tears, others beamed with excitement.
Despite being over half an hour late, and the rain pelting down heavily as her first song began – no-one cared.
“I don’t even care that she’s late,” one fan said.
“I want her to be that diva, it’s expected.”
Her voice still sounded as sweet as honey, she still hit her trademark high notes and clearly enjoyed being on stage singing and speaking to the audience in between hits.
The only complaint, there was not enough Mariah in the Mariah concert.
Between songs, her dancers and singers took the stage, but all the crowd wanted was Mariah.
It felt like everyone there knew all the words, and despite being cold and wet, like myself no-one seemed to notice.
We were all under the trance of Mariah.
